[Well, that's kind of a sad thing for Archer to admit considering what Greed knows about him, but he's not going to acknowledge it.]
You don't have to do anything with what I'm telling you. I don't really expect you to since the kid isn't your problem.
[Wrath should be somebody's problem, but it's looking like it's going to be a game of hot potato until someone steps up. Greed doesn't really want that somebody to be him.]
Do you remember the woman who attacked South Headquarters? Wore her hair braided.
He's her son. The more I think about it, the more sense it makes. He's not some creature pretending to be a child, he is a child.
The problem is when that happens, someone is going to snap eventually the results aren't going to be pretty.
Just don't let Greed find out about the whole "strap the kid naked to a table" because what the hell Archer?!]
Not really. He's going to have his alchemy back for a few days in May if he's around that long and that's about it. Keep an eye on him, won't you? The others don't want anything to do with him.
Calling it a "falling out" is putting it mildly. I don't know the story behind it, but I can tell you enough about it. He's the only one on the master's side, which puts us in an awkward spot. Kid won't listen to Envy or Wrath, and if he knew my name he wouldn't want anything to do with me either.
[At least bitching about homunculi dynamics makes him feel a little better. It's probably giving Archer deets Greed didn't intend to give, but you know what? That's Greed's fault.]
I have a question. Why are you entrusting his safety to me of all people?
[Even if he is reliable (he's not sure Greed's fully aware of that in the first place), he doesn't have any experience with children, much less children he's already managed to anger. He's kind of the worst person for this job, actually.]
[It's almost like someone wanted it erased from history or something.]
I'm sure there are books on the subject, but you'd probably have to be actively looking for books about religion. Anything else would probably leave it as a footnote.
It's interesting, isn't it? Not many people know about it.

[Ed did call her "teacher" a lot, so he's assuming that's the case.]
A child Homunculus... I never thought about that, but that would explain his mental state. It doesn't explain how he can use alchemy though.
[...]
I suppose it doesn't matter since he can't use alchemy here and what we learn here won't matter back home.
[Still, old habits die hard. He can't help but be curious about Wrath.]
no subject
[Oh, don't worry Archer. It made Greed curious, too. It's why he wanted to grab the kid, too.]
That part doesn't matter, though. You're right. Still, I wish I could tell you why he can use alchemy. It'd be a useful thing if he wasn't a kid.

[ARCHER YOU WERE DOING A GREAT JOB OF THAT WITH THE WHOLE "STRAPPING HIM TO A TABLE NAKED" THING]
But like I said, it doesn't matter here.

Oh really? Why not? Was there some sort of falling out?

[And he's not about to send Kimblee after the kid because Kimblee's probably just as bad with children as he is.]
whoops that should say Lust
[...Archer should probably ignore why Greed would seek him out in particular.
If you think it means something it doesn't.]
...I didn't even see anything wrong until you pointed it out, way to go me

You seem like you'd be able to scare him out of trouble if you needed to.
[Not that Archer is particularly scary but to an eight year old he's kidnapped? He sure is.]
no subject
[He's not sure if that's all there is to it, but he's willing to let it go for now.]
Is there anything else?
no subject
[There's totally something else.]
I appreciate this. You didn't exactly have to do anything.
no subject
You're welcome. There's no sense in letting him die, now is there?
[He sounds a bit confused by that though; he genuinely wasn't expecting to be thanked for this.]
no subject
Not really, no.
[He's a little confused himself, since properly thanking people isn't something he does often, but he also couldn't do this without Archer's help.]
I'm sure the kid'll settle down eventually. I'm a little sorry you'll have to put up with him in the meantime.

[He said he'd keep an eye out, not be the kid's babysitter!]
Ah, while we're here - did you have a nice holiday?

[Look at the two of them behaving like people who aren't incredibly awkward. This is genuine improvement.
Maybe it helps that Greed actually got something thoughtful for Archer? Maybe??]
Yeah, I had a pretty good time. Not bad for my first Christmas ever.

Fair enough. Hearing them for an entire month did get old.

They used to celebrate it in Amestris, you know. A long, long time ago.

[He sounds genuinely surprised by that piece of trivia. Something in Amestrian history he's not aware of?? How could this be???]

In the old part of Central, you can still see one of the churches.
