I wonder what the significance of May is? I understand a lot of odd things happen around Halloween, and the end of November is America's Thanksgiving...and obviously there's Christmas this month.

Six months from November puts us in May. It's a bit late for Easter, and while it could be Golden Week somehow I doubt it.
